About Us

ShearFIX is owed by Randy & Jill Smotts.  We are a husband & wife team who work together to have a perfect balance between sales and office administration.  We live and have an office in Cypress, TX, which is a northwest suburb of Houston.

Randy has been working closely with schools and stylists for the past 4 years to provide them with quality products at a budgeted price.  He is a trained shear sharpener and an expert in repairing shears.

Jill runs the office and handles all paperwork that comes in.  She has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting which allows her the ability to handle all the financial aspects of the business.

Together, we travel across the country attending trade shows for both students and stylists. At the shows, we not only have an exhibitor's booth but also many times teach courses relating to sanitation, shear awareness, and many other topics.

We have 3 daughters.  Christina is 24 years old and lives and works in Dallas.  Hannah is 4 years old and Morgan is 2 year old.  Our girls are young, yet all still involved in our business in one way or another.  They influence us each day in our decisions and also in our work philosophy.  You may occasionally even catch a glimpse of one or two of them with us at trade shows.
